Today I am talking with Nikki an Autistic Assistant Professor of Sociology. In our conversation, Nikki explains the process of a PhD for any neurosparkly social workers looking to take this path. Nikki discusses how doing a PhD enabled her time to focus on her special interest. Nikki discusses how her research topic ‘explosive children’ enabled her to reflect on her own childhood as an explosive child. Nikki discusses how her strength of spotting patterns supports her in her research and as a social work practitioner. Nikki talks about being able to use her lived experience of using services to inform her practice.
