8. Neurodivergent Social Work Voices Campaign: David

Today I am speaking with David and ADHDer student social worker. In our conversation, David explores how he has recently discovered his neurodivergence. David and I discuss what inattentiveness looks like in ADHD and how he is hyperaware of what is happening around him – including other people’s feelings. David shares that he can struggle to be productive himself, however in social work he can meet deadlines and be productive. David explains that he enjoys his own company and has found that he is drawn to like-minded people. David highlights that although some ADHD traits are desirable, people are quick to point out and push away the ‘undesirable’ traits.
